“If you do what you always did, you will get what you always got”

This quote has stayed in my office for years. I read it everyday. As I embarked on my real estate career years ago, I found myself reciting it in my head as I entered the classroom for the first time in two decades… I know unbelievable right? I physically went to class lol. It wasn’t online. The many hours of studying paid off as I passed on the first attempt and have been blessed with an awesome real estate career. My career has presented opportunities that would probably be unlikely if I hadn’t had the courage to walk through the door that night. I absolutely love what I do but my mind never stops (just ask hubby) and I’m always thinking of new ventures…here comes that quote again. It was time to build my dream! I had a vision that I never wanted to lose sight of. That vision, along with hard work and determination is what helped to build Willowbrook.
The land that Willowbrook sits on has been in my family for years. My husband Jon and I purchased it from my father and moved in on 11-11-11. (I won’t have trouble remembering that date haha) Its no secret for anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE projects. Jon knew with every season change I would have an idea, and with his construction background he would always make it come to life….and did I mention he is a master electrician as well?? Oh my the ideas I have lol. Lets just say I mentioned the venue idea over a date night dinner…with drinks of course. Jon being the awesome husband and team player said … “well lets make it happen”. Jon and I make a great team because we aren’t afraid of putting in the work and we were both taught that dreams don’t work unless you do.
When it came time to name the venue, it was a family affair. It had to have meaning and symbolize something about this family and this property. I think we nailed it.
The willow tree symbolizes dreams, strength and stability but my most favorite…magic. It finds its strength and structure from its trunk and ironically isn’t that with family too? Generations of instilling family values is what helped to create beautiful Willowbrook.
I couldn’t have done this venture without the help of my family and it means so much to me to have them working by my side. The willow reminds us to let go of the noise and always be flexible enough to see the potential for something new… and you know I’m definitely up for that ;)
Come visit us at Willowbrook…where moments become magical.
